,not oily Burgers and fries. We went to other fish and chips places and the pizza place and the burger places also.. but this place deserves a 5 * for its hot ,tasty food which is served in under 10 mins.

Owners are very nice and friendly, maybe not in chef's uniform, but food is really Hot, and Tasty

Pl ignore the ambience, enjoy the food.

Our family visited Maui last month and were completely delighted to enjoy food at India Express. We are vegetarians and found so many delicious options on the menu here--and then we got to taste the food! INCREDIBLE. Some of the best developed Indian flavors we have ever tasted. The palak paneer is amazing, and you MUST try the dahl. Just amazing. We enjoyed a wonderful conversation with the owner and his wife, who even brought us desserts to try on the house! We returned again a few days later to get take-out.

Eating on Hawaii is expensive everywhere as ingredient cost is high, but Zakir (the owner) explained to us that he wants to keep his prices affordable for tourists' sake. Prices were definitely similar to mainland U.S., which we did not find at any other restaurant in Maui. However, we probably would have paid more knowing how great the food was!

It is a little difficult to find. If you navigate there by Google Maps, it will take you close to the general location (across from the Banyan Tree) and then you have to go down into a lower courtyard off the street.

  • We found this hidden gem after a long day of fun and activities. The combination of hospitality in addition to a tasty and well cooked meal goes a long way!! The Biryani recipe is unique and has a the right mix of spices the coconut naan was fresh and perfect in consistency!!

  • Great Indian food. Was surprised to find this place in a not so great looking mall. The ambiance isn't so much there, but the food makes up for it. 5 stars to the chef...

We enjoyed the flavours so much that we returned twice for dinner. The staff and manager were very friendly and welcoming. Prices are reasonable with large selection of freshly prepared Indian cuisine. The combination of spices is well balanced allowing us to savour the delicious flavours. We ordered the mild to medium which was perfect for us. This restaurant is located downstairs in a mall, but is well worth looking for.

We've tried a few different Indian restaurants and know from experience that some taste better than others. So when we walked by this restaurant on the first night of our trip, we asked a table of people how the food was and they raved about it. So the next night we went, we ordered the Chicken Tika Masala and Chicken Curry and both were amazing. Definitely the best of both that I've ever had. The owner came out and was extremely nice and humble. If you like Indian food or want to experience it for the first time, definitely stop by.

  • Food was great and affordable. Portions were on the smaller side but is reasonable for the price. Service was fine.

We ordered Chicken Vindaloo and Chicken Tikka Masala with rice and garlic naan. This meal was one scrumptious bite after another. The flavors were delightful with just the right "heat" factor, and we were well-filled. We will definitely return to this little establishment in the future.

Boss: polite, humble, friendly nice indian owner and chef.

Nice location: In the centre of Lahaina and some plently free public parking place there. You could go shopping easily after having the meal.

I tried bunch of paneer curies, Chana masala, biryany, tea, garlic naan, onion kulcha and other items and found all of them very delicious. This is a totally authentic Indian place and taste of food reminds me of home.

I was glad to find this place during my stay in Maui.

  • Really good Indian food under the wharf. Great lunch deal. Pleasant and friendly owner. Indoor cool dining or sit outside by the water fountain/ garden. I little secret in lahaina.
